Blue Zones Project® encourages changes in communities that make healthy choices easier and more accessible. When an entire community participates—from its worksites and schools to its restaurants and grocery stores—the small changes contribute to huge benefits for all: lowered healthcare costs, improved productivity, and ultimately, a higher quality of life.
Blue Zones Project and partners are proud to have reached goals for transformative change and well-being improvement across Yuba-Sutter. The local Project operated in the community from 2021 – 2026, with Blue Zones Community certification achieved in July 2026. Thank you to our well-being champions across Yuba-Sutter who supported Blue Zones Project in their organizations, at home, and with their family, friends, and communities.

Yuba-Sutter, we did it!!!
Over the past five years, Yuba-Sutter has been walking, talking, connecting, volunteering, planting, cooking, laughing, and building a healthier community, together. From policy to people to places, this Journey Book captures the work that helped Yuba-Sutter earn Blue Zones Community Certification and the countless individuals who made it possible.
